SIPU International offers Advanced International
Training Programmes (ITP) of strategic importance for
social and economic development in targeted countries. The programs
are financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation
Agency (Sida), as part of its bilateral development
assistance. The programmes are designed for key individuals:
qualified to participate in reform processes of importance on
different levels. They have to be supported by their institution
and hold positions in government departments, agencies, other
public sector organisations, CSO or business with a mandate to run
processes of change. SIPU International supports and strengthens
the participants' institutions own plans for change on
organizational and sectoral levels. The training should not be
regarded as individual competence training.
The methodology is based on the assumption that
participating countries wish to carry out changes and are willing
to invest own resources to achieve these changes. SIPU's
methodological approach is participative training focused on
supporting the participants own plans or projects for change.
Against this background, the training programmes are designed for
persons qualified to participate in reform processes and holds a
position in the home organisation with mandate to run processes of
change. SIPU International executes five ITP programs in several
areas:
- Human Rights towards Gender Equality
- Local Democracy and Self Governance
- Local Environmental Management in Urban Areas
- Strategic Business Management
- Public Sector Growth
