SIPUs new advanced International Training Programmes in Private Sector Development, Private Sector Growth and Strategic Business Management, conducted in collaboration with Jarskog Konsult, are now up and running.
The programme management travelled to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda,
Tanzania and Ethiopia in the beginning of February to conduct start
up seminars and national workshops in Private Sector Development in
each of the participating countries.
The seminars and workshops successfully gathered key PSD-actors
and presented an opportunity to influence the common action plan
for PSD as well as identify priority areas for the programme.
-We are very pleased with the attendance and engagement of
the invited participants. In each country both start up seminars
and national workshops been highly successful. We are now looking
forward to welcome the finally selected participants to Stockholm
and Sweden in April says Elisabet Montgomery, project leader
and programme manager at SIPU International.
The programmes are sponsored by Sida and target key officials of the national
private sector development as well as business leaders. The
objectives of the two programmes are to contribute to the
development of a dynamic and sustainable private sector, and to
strengthen collaboration between the private and public sector for
better functioning markets and improved integration in world
trade.
